British Turkey jumps at the chance of raising funds for SPARKS

Former 400m hurdles champion and TV presenter, Kriss Akabusi, recently took time out from the golf course to accept a hefty £5,400 cheque on behalf of the children’s medical charity SPARKS from the British Turkey industry.

Kim Burgess, chairman of the British Turkey Sector Group’s Publicity and Marketing Committee, told Kriss that the money was raised through fun games and auctions at the annual British Turkey Awards.

She said: “This was the second year we have linked to SPARKS and we were delighted and amazed at the generosity of our guests and members.”

The British Turkey Awards showcase the efforts of retailers and manufacturers to encourage consumers to buy and enjoy British Turkey, plus recognise the talents and hard work of recipe writers, chefs and butchers.
